What is Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS)?

FCS stands for Family and Consumer Sciences Extension, and it’s all about empowering individuals and families to thrive! From childhood to retirement, FCS programs provide the skills and knowledge needed to navigate life’s challenges with confidence. 

We focus on well-being, covering everything from human development, parenting, financial literacy, nutrition, health, and leadership, all designed to help individuals and families build strong foundations for success.

At the community level, FCS Extension is a driving force behind economic and community development. Our professionals equip people with the tools they need to manage resources, strengthen families, and create vibrant, resilient communities in an ever-changing world.
